Seminar: "How Will Your Special Needs Child Be Cared For When You Are Gone?"

Studies have shown that 69 percent of parents with special needs children say they are concerned about providing lifetime care for their dependents, yet 88 percent of the parents have not set up special needs trusts. Protecting your child with special needs means providing a secure, dignified quality of life and opportunities to grow. Planning for their future is critical, especially for that time when you are no longer around.
In a FREE, educational, NO OBLIGATION workshop, Special Needs attorney Terri Hilliard will address a number of important questions, including:

  • How do we put in writing the future care we desire for our special needs child?
  • If something happens to us, who will watch over our special needs child?
  • How do we preserve and protect essential governmental benefits?
  • After we are gone, how will services and housing for our special needs child be paid?
  • Where can we go, when we have questions?
  • If we’re not around, what happens to our special needs child after age 18?
  • How can our family members leave inheritances or gifts for our child without losing governmental benefits?
  • What is memorandum of intent?
  • What can the ABLE Act do for our child?
  • Do I need a limited conservatorship?
Date: Tuesday, June 13, 2017

Time: 7:00 - 8:30 p.m.

Location: 600 Hampshire Blvd. Suite 202, Janet Levett Chamber of Commerce Center, Westlake Village

Tiny Porch Concerts

Remember the terrific Tiny Porch Concerts last summer at the Peter Strauss Ranch? Well, it was such a huge success and so much fun, we’re once again sponsoring the concerts this year and hope you can join us.
If you couldn’t make any of these last year, the party starts in May and runs into September with a different group of rising musical stars each month.  Bring your picnic basket, low-back chair or blanket and relax under the huge oaks, listening to some incredible sounds that promise to get you up and dancing.
  • May 14: A double bill of Rose’s Pawn Shop with Pretty Polly
  • June 11: A double bill of Rabbit Wild with Steps of Doe
  • July 6: A double bill of Moonsville Collective with Feisty Heart
  • August 20: A double bill of Sam Outlaw with Lydia Luce
  • September 9: A double bill of The Way Down Wanderers with Which Country? featuring Lenny Goldsmith
The July 6 show is even more special for our clients and friends, since we’ll be saying a big “Thank You” with wine and refreshments to start off an amazing evening with Moonsville Collective and Fiesty Heart.
The Peter Strauss Ranch is part of the National Park Service and is located at 30000 Mulholland Highway, Agoura Hills.  Space is limited for each of these events in the Ranch’s intimate, outdoor amphitheater.  If you can join us, please RSVP, as soon as possible.  Please call (805) 201-2552 or e-mail thilliard@terrihilliard.com
